Best eSIM for Europe in 2026: One Plan for a Multi-Country Trip

How to stay online across several European countries with one eSIM: regional vs single-country plans, how much data you need, what about the UK, Switzerland and the Balkans, and setup tips.

One eSIM, many borders

Europe is made for multi-country trips: a train from Paris to Amsterdam, a road trip through Italy and Austria, a week island-hopping in Greece. Swapping SIM cards at every border is exactly what you do not want.

A regional eSIM solves this. You install one eSIM, and it connects to licensed local networks in every country the plan covers. When you cross a border, the phone switches networks on its own.

Our Europe regional plan covers 33 countries, and the exact list is shown on the plan before you buy. Europe plans start from $1.84.

How much data for a European trip?

  • City break with maps and messaging: about 0.3–0.5 GB a day.
  • A week with daily social media: 8–10 GB.
  • Two weeks with navigation on a road trip: 5–10 GB, depending on video use.
  • Working remotely or using a hotspot: 15 GB or more.

All our plans have a fixed amount of data, with no "unlimited" plans that slow down after a hidden cap. If you need more mid-trip, add a second small plan. It installs alongside the first in a minute. Top-ups are not available yet.

"I have an EU SIM. Do I need this?"

If your home SIM is from an EU country, EU "roam like at home" rules usually let you use your normal plan in other EU countries at no extra cost, within fair-use limits. Check your operator's terms. A travel eSIM is most useful if:

  • your home SIM is from outside the EU (the UK, US, Ukraine, Asia and so on), where roaming can be expensive,
  • your plan's roaming allowance is small,
  • you are visiting non-EU countries in Europe, or
  • you would rather not tie your travel data to your personal number.

Setting it up for a multi-country trip

  1. Install at home on Wi-Fi: scan the QR, or tap "Install on iPhone" on the order page.
  2. Select the eSIM line for mobile data and enable data roaming on that line. Regional plans always work in roaming mode, so this switch must be on.
  3. Leave network selection on automatic. The phone picks a partner network in each country.
  4. At a border: if the connection drops, toggle airplane mode once. That usually forces the phone to register on the new country's network.
  5. Turn off data roaming on your main SIM to avoid charges from your home carrier.

FAQ

Does one eSIM work in all European countries?

A regional plan works in every country on its list. Our Europe plan covers 33 countries, and the list is shown before purchase. Always check that all countries on your route are included.

Do the days start when I buy the Europe eSIM?

No. They start from your first connection in a covered country, so you can install it at home before the trip.

Is there an unlimited data eSIM for Europe?

We sell fixed-data plans only, up to 20 GB for 30 days on the Europe plan. If you need more, add another plan as a second eSIM.

Does the Europe eSIM include a phone number?

No. It is data-only. Your regular SIM keeps your number for calls and SMS.
