Install your travel eSIM before you fly: a 5-step checklist

Landing in a new country and looking for Wi-Fi is a bad start to a trip. You need a map, a ride app and a way to message people. The easiest fix is to set up your travel eSIM at home, before you go. This checklist takes about ten minutes.

Why set it up before departure

An eSIM is a digital SIM. You install it by scanning a QR code, so you don't have to queue at an airport kiosk or find a shop that is open. If you install it at home on stable Wi-Fi, any problem shows up while you can still fix it.

With NoIDeSim there is also no paperwork to do on the way. There is no passport scan, no selfie, no email and no account. Website orders get an order code instead of an account.

The 5-step checklist

  1. Check that your phone supports eSIM. Not every phone does, and some are locked to a carrier. Run a quick check on our phone compatibility page before you buy.
  2. Pick a plan for your destination. Every plan page shows the network type, the IP exit country and the operators. Browse all options on /plans.
  3. Pay and get your QR code. You can pay with crypto (USDT TRC-20, TON, Solana, USDC, ETH, BTC, Monero) or with Telegram Stars in the bot. Delivery usually comes within a minute after payment confirms.
  4. Install the eSIM over Wi-Fi. Add it in your phone's settings by scanning the QR code. Give it a clear label, such as the country name, so you can find it later.
  5. Switch it on when you land. Choose the eSIM as your mobile data line and turn on data for it. Keep data roaming off on your home SIM so it doesn't connect by accident.

Tip: plan days start at your first connection in the destination, not at purchase. Installing early does not use up your days.

What it costs

Local plans start from $1.20. Some examples from our catalog:

  • Spain: 1 GB for 7 days — $2.28
  • United Kingdom: 1 GB for 7 days — $2.28
  • Turkey: 1 GB for 7 days — $1.84
  • United States: 1 GB for 7 days — $3.18

If you are visiting several countries, look at the regional plans. Europe starts from $1.84. See every price on /plans.

A few practical notes

  • Hotspot works. Wi-Fi hotspot is available on all our eSIMs, so you can share data with a laptop or a travel partner.
  • Data only. NoIDeSim eSIMs have no phone number. Calls and SMS go through your usual apps.
  • Top-up isn't available yet. If you run out of data, buy another plan.
  • Connection guarantee. If the eSIM does not connect within 24 hours of your arrival through our fault, we will fix it, replace it or refund it.

Bonus: save on the next trip

After each delivered order from $3, you get a bonus code. Your next eSIM costs the price of 1 GB less, up to $3, and the code is valid for 90 days. You can also gift it to a friend. Frequent travellers can collect NoID Miles, which give 5% back as miles on every purchase. Details are on /miles.
